
From Learner to Climate Resilient Leader
Generation Kijani (Gen_K) is a nine-month programme for youth-led organisations across Tanzania that are already working with young people and communities on climate change. It strengthens your leadership, grows your organisation, and turns your climate ideas into practical action in your own community.
It is led by Climate Hub Tanzania (CHT), together with Climate KIC and funded by the Government of Ireland | International Development Programme.

The programme combines virtual learning, in-person sessions, mentorship, peer learning and practical assignments. You should expect to dedicate approximately 13–30 hours per month to programme activities and implementing your community climate project, depending on your organisation’s needs and planned activities.
As part of Gen_K, you will have the opportunity to get:
Up to €5,000 to deliver a climate project in your own community.
Leadership, project management, fundraising, planning and organisational development.
Mentors, and organisations from earlier cohorts who know what you are facing.
The chance to apply to showcase at the Climate Innovation Expo and to run a Climathon in your own area.
We work to support climate adaptation and resilience: solutions that protect people, livelihoods and the environment from the effects of climate change. We are looking for youth-led organisations that:

Each selected organisation can receive up to €5,000 to support a project delivered between November 2026 and June 2027.

All five criteria must be met for your application to be considered.
Complete the application form and tell us about your organisation, your work, your leadership and the climate challenge you are working to address. You will hear back about the outcome of your application in early November 2026.
